"Sometimes you need to get up and fight, even if you're bound to lose" - Unknown. I ran as fast as my short legs could go, feeling my lungs scorching as I wheeze from the chilling air. My adrenaline made itself known as my heart nearly pounded from my chest, and onto the snow-covered grounds. I tripped over tangled frozen greenery, resulting in me landing on my already wounded side, not being eligible to keep my raucous cry in. I bit my newly chapping lips as my eyes swelled with tears from pain and fear combined, my watery eyes searching around in a rush. "I can hear you, you little shit!" The voice boomed, causing the hairs on my neck to rise, my breathing to quicken even more. I jumped to my feet and fled, looking desperately for an exit, for help- anything. I stopped in my tracks and noticed a fragile ledge that most likely would lead me to vacate icy roads, minus the occasional cars to drive by. That's what you get living in the very heart of nowhere. It's one heck of a drop, it barely looks survivable. But I need an escape. Escape.
