My Poetry My poetry is not a work of Fiction It is not stolen or taken from anothers lines I will never stop writing my poetry I will not write around CAUTION cones and do not cross tape I will not limit myself in fear of ruining Someone's perfect image of the world My poems are My thoughts My feelings My good days and bad put on paper These are my stories My memoirs My way of sharing and unleashing The things people said I should be ashamed of People said I would become nothing A nobody Those same people thought They were knocking me down But I started writing when I was weak Putting my poems on paper Ignited me It sparked a flame That helped me find my purpose So when I see them again And they ask me Who I am My answer will be easy I am a poet
