In a society that's deeply prejudiced, two young girls learn that acting on their feelings is in fact illegal. When fourteen-year-old Elizabeth Ferreira fall in love with the fiesty and independent Joan Maredi, she knows that homosexuality and inter-race relationships are forbidden. Yet, she doesn't care. The two of them swear that the bonds they create will not be destroyed, but will it be the thing that destroys them?
