Amara Scamander was a doll. Crafted from the smoothest porcelain, Amara was sculptured perfection, with plump lips that always formed a smile as sweet as honey dukes, and rosy blush decorating her soft, melanin cheeks.

She was a perfectly postured representation of her family's magnificence, always dressed in perfectly fitted clothes from the most expensive brands. It was not strange that the public held such a keen interest in her and her brother with the way her parents dressed them up and put them on display for the whole world to see.

But the world didn't see everything. The world didn't see the invisible strings tied around her wrists and ankles, constantly tugging her in whatever direction her parents decided was the right one. They only saw what her parents wished for them to see: perfection.

But every string is bound to snap once you pull too hard. And that is exactly what happened to Amara's.
