(COMPLETE) Winter of 1945... the war has ended! Countess Annalise of Venice has returned back to the glorious Venice Manor, a place she has always called home. Upon learning that her parents have perished in the war, Annalise tries to busy herself with lessons, dinners, and religion. In the midst of all the chaos her grandfather tries to hire helpers to work around the manor, so it's no surprise to Annalise when one day while walking in the gardens she discovers a new worker, Hunter Williams. Hunter Williams is no ordinary worker, however. Catching the attention of Annalise, Hunter has the framework of an athlete, and yet is as thin as a twig, and his head is shaven. After talking to him Annalise discovers he is cold, and distances herself from him. Soon these two become closer, as the idea of marriage to the heir to the Italian throne looms, and Hunter's secret threatens to break them apart.
