Protectors and humans.
Protectors are those who are able to shift between their human and animal form. At the ceremony they become bound together till death takes them both.

The world I know and the world you know are like polar opposites.

Where you are over population is a problem.

Here extinction is ours.

Yours have animals that you keep in a zoo or in the wild.

Ours has shifters, half human half animal.

To you we are fiction, a plot in a book.

To us, we are real.
