Chapter 1. Poppy

Poppy met Cosette when they were four, and since then, they have been inseparable, hand in hand. If someone thought of Poppy, they thought of Cosette, if they thought of Cosette, they thought of Poppy. They promised each other that they would be best friends forever, and nothing would get in their way.

But then, their laughter turned to ice, and every breathe became toxic. Their friendship crumbled to dust. And even though Poppy had come to terms with losing their friendship, and happily moved on, nothing could have prepared her for truly losing her best friend forever.

"Did you hate Cosette Chamberlain?"

"Not enough to kill her"
