Christmas is just around the corner, but that doesn't mean that the "basement-unit" (a small group of investigators working in London who look into the strangest cases that Southern England has to offer) can kick back and relax. Quite the contrary. Sebastian, Alois, Ciel and Claude are presented with one of their strangest cases yet when a woman is found dead; she appears to have choked to death on flowers. The four investigators are baffled, including Sebastian Michaelis, though Sebastian soon begins to get a little too good of an idea as to what happened to the woman - through first hand experience.
Chapter One: A Rather Unusual Case, and a lot of Very Unstubtle Foreshadowing
