Mae has always been drawn to the safe side of magic. She grew up in a family where the most magic used was to take out the trash. Hurting people? Out of the question.

Yet when she meets Ivona, a magician with a shady past and terrifying future, she finds herself drawn to a deadly type of magic.

Ivona swears she's innocent--but the people chasing her say otherwise. In a life or death situation, Mae ends up saving Ivona's life...and smearing her own name in the process. Mae must decide if the beautiful, but altogether scary, Ivona is worth losing everything she's ever known.
