Not every nightmare is a dream. It was fifty-four years ago when, to the shock and horror of The Reach, Adanella Tarn betrayed and destroyed the Dawn Wardens, all except one: Etzelity Styrm, now hailed as the Last Warden, who killed Tarn with nothing but a bit of luck and a steak knife. That night was forever after known as The Night the Ravens Screamed. Etzelity would disappear for the next twenty-one years, in diaspora as a result of the breaking of her order, and Tarn's body was never recovered. The terror of the night seemed silenced. But what if the nightmare never ended? Today, Etzelity serves as Starfinder Exalted of the Multisystemic Federation of Stars. But when once more her sleep is tormented by dreams of the Night the Ravens Screamed, she can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. As the newest wave of MFS starships roll out in response to the recent Trace Revolution, one ship is sent to the small, agrarian planet of Xeld on an errand for Tetracorp. Something seems amiss with the local Goblin tribes, and it's up to the crew of the MFS Glimmer to solve the problem. But as they soon find, something far worse than a new Goblin warchief on the eastern seaboard is at play, as a mysterious plague ravages villages planetwide and thousands of corpses disappear from the crypts.
