Description
Some people might say Victorian England was not the best place to be gay. Sophia and Arthur might have to disagree. Sophia and Arthur are best friends. They are also gay. And working together in a travelling theatre about to set off on a ten month tour of England in 1867. Not much is easy for this pair. Or any of their colleagues, for that matter. There is Eleanor, a young country girl struggling with sudden changes to her morals and identity. And Harry, who ran away from home to escape the predictability of working life. Matilda, who joined the theatre to breakout from the stereotype of what is expected of a woman. George, the only parental figure in many of the actors lives, who is beginning to question everything he thought he knew. Even Mr Rob himself is a widower who has thrown himself into his passion to avoid his grief. At least they have each other, right?
