Getting accepted into Hope's Peak University is supposed to set you up as a success once you graduate, but has this changed? Maru Tsukiyama is a young woman chosen by Hope's Peak University to attend their talent research program. When she arrives, she wakes up in a room. Soon after, she and her classmates learn from a mysterious person named Monokuma that they must participate in a "killing game". Will despair triumph over the students, or will hope shine forward to give them a bright future?
