Bella Harbor is almost sixteen, her parents tell her to sign a contract. The contract when signed will give her money and make it easier to get a job, but the downside is if you sign you have to choose how much time you have left before you get eaten, the more time you have the less money you will get...When she tries to change the law she is going to jail and be eaten, now she has to run away and find friends that will help her survive and change the law.
