Briel knew she was different since the moment she could talk to the Boogey Man behind her closet when she was five. No one could quite explain her condition and she learned to come to terms with her "strange quirks". When a party that went terribly wrong ruined her quiet life, Briel was forced to move along with Rebecca, a well-known artist, into Soren's City. For a girl who held deadly secrets, the University of Soren was a chance to start over, after all she swore to stay out of trouble. But Fate has other plans and Briel can't hide forever.

Damien is the leader of an elite squad called S.P.A.D., and he also harbors a second identity that only a few know. With the fae being a taboo in the Human World and magic is frowned upon, Briel and Damien need to make peace with their inner demons fast, or risk plunging the Human World into chaos. Because the veil between the worlds seems to be turning thin and monsters begin to run rampant in Soren's streets.
