The Red Room, the top secret Soviet training program that turned young women into the most dangerous and elite assassins in the world, was known for the creation of the Black Widow. The world would soon know Natasha Romanoff, the Widow, when Loki would invade New York. What the Avengers weren't prepared for was meeting the Recluse, Eleanor Roberts.
The second deadliest assassin to come out of the Red Room, the Recluse and the Black Widow were meant to be the strongest team in KGB history.

The Recluse spider is known to be dangerous and deadly, and a recluse is known to live a solitary life and avoid others. Eleanor kept her circle small, keeping everyone but Natasha on the outskirts of her life in order to protect them. She was fierce, loyal, and if you touched her family she was deadly. She was the embodiment of a recluse, until one man with a pair of mechanical wings swoops into her life.
