Whilst testing out a prototype for his new wing pack, which he'd been warned wasn't ready, Sam ends up fatally wounded. He lays dying in some back street ally, alone.

But when he wakes up, back at the Avengers facility with minor injuries and memories of a lavender-scented woman the team think he is finally cracking up.
