Misty is a smart woman who had to fight her way up by herself without parents as she worked on contracts online from her home. She had no time for myths and didn't believe in ghosts, goblins or Vampires.
Rad was an Enforcer for the Council, an ancient being whose job was to track down and do away with rogues who gave vampires a bad name. He didn't want the job of protecting a female human until the Council gave him proof of the fact that there was a rare and precious plasma out there in the world that would save his kind.
