Back in the victorian era no woman had the choice to choose whom they'd marry nor choose at what age. Sixteen year old Roselle married 21 year old Denver Lavoís (La-vo-á), just 3 days after an arranged meet by Denver's wealthy folks.

Roselle thought she'd found the perfect man but after the groom's parents were mysteriously killed, the couple inherited their millions. She wanted to help the poor. He wanted to keep it all to himself including his under aged wife. Even if it meant abusing her and bringing deadly misfortune to those willing to help Roselle escape.
