Book One: Aquileia Elizabeth-Marie Swan "You-" Accusations flooded my brain, all trying to escape at the same time. Swirling aimlessly through as they failed to find an exit. "Did you seriously just saunter out of the classroom?" His lips pulled back into a grin, his unnaturally white teeth showing; threatening me behind his obnoxious smile. "Did I?" His warm honey eyes swirled with humour, curiosity, and a warning he had been hinting to me for a while; a warning that Billy's stories told me: I was supposed to fear this over confident boy. "Yes, you did," I responded. His hand was on my bicep before I could register that he had moved, pulling me a few steps back, out of the way as the rest of the class had begun to race to their last hour. Almost all of them either shooting us quick glances or outright staring. Though the pressure of his hand was barely there, I could feel how cool his skin was; the exact same temperature as the classroom had been. As his eyes turned back from our classmates to my eyes, a memory coursed through me. "You still haven't told me." His mouth stopped halfway through a word as he registered my meaning. "I thought by now you would have figured out." His eyes were now darker, his tone following in likeness. His mouth hovered near my ear, icey breathe gently brushing against it. His hand tightened around my bicep. "I hoped after talking with Billy, you would get it through that thick skull of yours that my family- that I am dangerous," his voice dropped, a soft murmur of warning. "If you truly care so much about your sister's well being, you would be putting as much distance as possible between us." I pulled back, meeting his eyes. "Are you threatening me, Edward?" I asked, taunting the words he asked me that first day. His eyes responded when his mouth came up with nothing. He was warning me. "You aren't this threatening demon, Edward. Just a mildly dangerous nuisance." *Currently in editing*
