Description
My goal is to share what I wish I knew about trauma and healing in order to make your journey less confusing. I have to begin by telling you that there are no magic words or wisdom to make the pain of trauma disappear. There is only you and your commitment to yourself. When you commit to yourself and stay by your own side even when you feel like giving up you will amaze yourself on who you will become. For me, healing has been a combination of three things: inner child work, self forgiveness and responsibility. Inner child work brings awareness to the fact that no one is ready to go through the emotions of trauma so we are therefore immature when it comes to coping with these emotions. Thinking of your traumatized self as a child may make it easier to forgive yourself during your healing process. Self forgiveness is important because this healing process of trauma is one that you have never had to go through before. You are going to carry emotions you've never had to carry before. These emotions may be too heavy to carry, forgive yourself for not being able to bare it. What you are going through is hard. Lastly, take responsibility for your healing. After all, you are the driving force for it.
