Join these daughters of the King as they navigate a summer of laughter, tears, lies, and loves- and watch their summer broke turn into a summer breakthrough. * "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14 * Excerpt: "Blessed," Jenny repeated as they stepped back into the lobby. "I should have known all this... was too good to be true." "Hey," Gloria said softly, hugging her friend. "Maybe it was. But if it was, there's just something better to come." "How do you know that?" Gloria smiled. "'I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you-" "Hope and a future," Jenny finished. All of a sudden, peace washed over her and she produced a small smile, unearthing herself from her friend's hug. "Of course." It didn't matter what was happening now. After all, she felt the same way while she was stuck herding toddlers, and this opportunity came out of nowhere. "You always know what to say." "That wasn't me," Gloria shrugged. She looked up toward the ceiling and squeezed her eyes shut. "God, we're confused right now." "So confused," Jenny agreed. "We know You did this for a reason, but... it's kinda hard to see right now. But I guess faith is the substance of what is unseen so... I see what You did there." She shook her head and let out a laugh. "You got me into this, so when it comes to paying rent and finding another job... expect to hear from me a lot." She stood silent for a moment, trying to think of anything else to say. "And thank You for Gloria, and her weird gift of always knowing what to say." She paused, but Gloria didn't add anything else. "Amen."
