Prologue

Leila Jackson has to drop everything and become mayor of Mid-Fais after the previous mayor, her mother Macy Jackson, mysteriously runs off to Hawaii. Leila's father, Trey Jackson, is in prison. Despite her sadness about being abandoned by her parents, Leila makes friends with the shy Mason and the lively Sunny, who teach her that your real family are the people who care about you.
Now all she has to do is make sure they don't find out her secret.
