"You say you want nothing to do with this life," he breathed, alighting my skin. "And yet, you come to me, time and time again."

I fumble around for my words. "I think you'll find you're the one to come to me." His hands come to rest on my hips, pushing me into the wall.

"Maybe that's true," he said, lips brushing against my skin with each word, making goosebumps rise all over my skin. I can barely think with the influx of senses he's invoking. "But who can blame me?"

"Maybe it's best you stay away from me," I try, even though it's the last thing I want. The last thing in the world.

"I don't think that's an option," he says, and then before I can think, his lips come crashing down onto mine.
