Now, hundreds of people from around the globe converge in Anchorage every January and June, vying to have the chance to pilot a Jaeger. They bring with them their brothers, sisters, childhood best friend, wife, husband, and life partner, hoping they'll be drift compatible and deemed Ranger Ready six months later. Sang Sorenson Roberts is one of these candidates. But, unlike the rest of the candidates, she didn't come with a potential co-pilot. She has no brother, sister, best friend or partner, and her dreams of piloting a Jaeger start to crumble in front of her... until she's marked as potentially drift compatible with nine guys she had never met before. Join Sang and the Blackbourne boys as they navigate the world of Pacific Rim, witnessing the golden age of the Jaeger program and its eventual fall from grace, and experiencing love, joy, victory, grief, immense sadness and loss. This the story of becoming a hero the hard way. This is a Ghost Bird/Pacific Rim fanfic, none of the characters belong to me, only the plot. This is heavily based on Generation K, a beautiful Pacific Rim fanfic on A03 that spans the whole Kaiju War and I'm using a lot of the author's fanon. This my love letter to Pacific Rim and Generation K.
