Prologue

"To whoever is reading,

Thank you for finding my daughter. Her name is Emerson Rae. She was born on July 21, 2014. Please take care of her, unlike I could. Hopefully you will be a better mother or father to her than I was. Please let my Emmy have a good life. Thank you."

Hunter looked down at Emerson, who was peacefully sleeping. He picked her up and put the note in his pocket.

That's when Hunter decided.

"I'll give you a good life Emmy. I'll be your dad now. I'll take care of you Emmy. Always."
