Jason, mediocre teenager nicknamed Brainless, lives in Vermillion, a small town in South Dakota where youth gets bored. Everyday, Brainless gets a formaldehyde injection, so that he does not rot. Since he died, suffocated by a massive ingestion of corn, the two hemispheres of his brain have trouble communicating. His stomach only digests raw meat. He stopped sleeping and breathing. Besides that, his everyday life did not change much since he started suffering from JHCS - Juvenile Homeostatic Coma Syndrome, a new disease targeting adolescents, more and more widespread across the United States - in other words, since he became a zombie... It only happens, sometimes, that he wonders what the human brain might taste like. But among his classmates, some have far more macabre projects.
