It is commonly believed that though we understand a great deal about the universe and our technology is allowing us to see further and further into it, humans are unable to account for around 80% of the matter in the universe. We simply can not see it, or calculate for it. In truth, it is because humans are unable to see through realms other than our own. On Earth, Cassidy is a 13 year veteran of a small city police force. She's a major crime detective and one of the best they have still working for them, but the job is taking its toll. She swears that every time she investigates a death, she can see and converse with the spirit of the person; not that they ever have anything useful to say. She's alone and prefers it that way, finding solace in the loneliness of her cabin outside the city, but out there the shadows move in odd ways and the nightmare creatures of her childhood begin to materialize if she loses focus on the present moment. Cassidy finds herself pulled into a celestial game of good versus evil where those that control worlds have wagered the existence of countless realms and lives on the outcome of one final battle.
