The heat felt as if it rushed from his hand into my body as his hand wrapped around my neck, scorching my insides. "Stop, I can't breathe" I tell him. He smirked, ever so gently and gave me a look that showed that he had no care for my suffering.
"I like seeing the ones I'm closest to in pain."
"Why"
"Because then I won't feel alone."

During Skler Mitt's shift at the cafe, she encounters a charming man that seems to have his eyes set on making the rest of her life care free. She accepts his support and love, not realizing sooner that doing so, would come with a price.
