Where one's status is based on their Dominant or Submissive alleles, Ama'Rose always felt a deep reluctance to take part in societies grouping. She couldn't see herself under someone else's control, (a submissive). And being a switch was just too unstable for her, (a submissive and a dominant).

With the fear of finding out her persona, Ama'Rose stayed clear of blood testing and categorizing, that is until she goes to club Chasity.
