What I do today affects what will happen tomorrow. Today the abuse will end. He will realize how bad he's gotten and he'll quit. Today he will be sober. Today my hopes will crumble, only to be rebuilt again tomorrow. He didn't change yesterday, he didn't change today, and he won't change tomorrow. Yesterday I was weak. Today I am strong. And tomorrow, he will be dead.

"Today is a new day. Today is the day you can change your life." My shrink always told me. And that's exactly what I plan on doing.
