Chapter One

Park Ranger Flint Westbrook is devastated after tragically losing his beloved search and rescue dog while attempting to find a kidnap victim near his home in Florida. Coffy Summerfield, a mysterious, headstrong search and rescue K9 expert from Colorado, offers him a replacement with the stipulation that he come to her facility to train for a week. Flint and Coffy set off on a course of romance and adventure as he learns more about the woman and the tragedy from her past that guides her every decision. Flint soon finds himself in a race against time to save Coffy from her path of self-destruction by convincing her that love, and mutual respect can heal the deepest wounds, even those that threaten to kill her.
