Prologue

My name is Anastasia Light and I haven't been outside in sixteen years. I've never felt the sun on my face or breathed air. It was too dangerous for me, they would have killed me for being what I am. My older brother was my only companion. The reason: I wasn't supposed to be born. In our society it was only suppose to be one child. My mother broke that law and my brother took the role of taking care of me. It was forbidden for me to go outside but that's all about to change.
