Description
Eddie has to wonder how many people he's killed. How many he's put the barrel to, pulled the trigger. How many people he's hurt. How many he's tortured. How many lives he's uprooted. A lot can change in six years. Richie has done things that the mere thought of makes Eddie's stomach turn in search of power. He wonders, if only briefly, if he thinks it's worth it. Power, but only at the cost of your humanity. At the cost of becoming the storybook villain. At the cost of losing your family and friends because they'll be leveraged against you. At the cost of becoming the bad guy. ━━━━━━ "What do you not understand?" Richie demands, talking a few quick soft steps toward Eddie. He's in Eddie's personal space. He knows he should be afraid. Richie's killed so many, placed the barrel to their head and pulled the trigger. Who knows how many have been killed in his name. How many he's have been tortured in his name. It's probably too many for him to count. He's not. He doesn't know why. If Eddie so much as look at Richie the wrong way, he could kill everyone. He could kill Bev, Stan, Mike, Ben, and Bill. Eddie wouldn't be able to do a thing about it. No one would, because he's got this entire city wrapped around his finger. Eddie only glares ip at him, "what I don't understand is what makes you think you're entitled to violate my privacy and tell me what is and what isn't good for me!" Eddie thinks Richie expected him to back down. To slip back into the old routine of allowing himself to be ordered around, never saying no. Allowing Richie to control his life. Allowing Richie to tell him who he can and can't date because he's got the emotional stability of a toddler. Because, as Eddie knows, he can kill him with a flick of his finger.
