Fourteen-year-old Aila Hope Vacker is a loyal member of the Neverseen, fighting along side her brother, Alvar Vacker. Taken from her home at birth (a year after Biana was born), she is trying to find her place in the world. But in order to fit in, she has to get out and about. The only problem - she is kept in a Neverseen camp because of her special ability. She is too valuable to the Neverseen. So when she finally gets the opportunity to get away from the hideout, she is eager to go. Suddenly mixed up in the affairs of the rivaling society, the Black Swan, Aila must choose a side before it's too late, and she becomes an outcast to both. Born to be the Moonlark's counterpart, can Aila brave through the challenges of her world? Or will it erupt into flames all around her?
