A car crash takes the life of August's little sister Lily at the tender age of 11. A car crash that was August's mistake. Devastated after the crash, August runs away, isolating herself away from family and friends and turning to drugs and useless hook-ups for a false sense of comfort in a new town. Not wanting to become too close, August cuts ties with past relationship and doesn't make plans to form more. Until she meets Jay, who refuses to be just a one night stand.
