He didn't have a normal childhood because at the age of ten, he already experienced hell even without muttering a single lie. As he entered Grim Academy, he became famous in an instant even before the class has started. The teachers were astounded by his unbeatable intelligence. But those are the only things they know about him. Even his foster father knows nothing at all - or at least he knows something far from truth. Drape Scamander doesn't have a choice.
