Prologue: Max's Graduation

Life in the wasteland of Louisiana was far from desirable for Eliette Aucoin. Especially with her older brother Max leaving for college, and her parents working her and the rest of her brothers to near death, all Ellie could do was stare at the movie stars on her walls and dream of a different, congenial lifestyle.

But her life was suddenly turned on it's head when the Aucoin siblings stumbled upon a lone alligator gnawed boot, once belonging to Dawson Pitre, a man they all knew had been missing for months. With the help of other kids throughout their tiny town, the Aucoins use their summer to solve the disappearance and uncover the greater secrets of Passe Run.
