Everyday Ann Rose is forced to fake a smile, laugh when others laugh, and pray that the jumper she’s wearing hides the bruises covering her arms and chest. It’s all a game, one that she has been playing for as long as she can remember. She’s used to it: the shouting, the crying, the pain and eventually the darkness. But throughout all of this she remains aware of others, keeping them settled in the hopes that one day fate will end her suffering.
