Her mother got pregnant in high school, and as soon as her Monica's 'dad' found out he broke up with Monica's mother, Summer. Summer wanted to stay with him so she said as soon as the baby was born she'd give it up to an orphanage. So ever since then Monica has been in SallyHills orphanage.
