Tristen Lewis, fraternal twin of Simon Lewis, is dragged into the Shadow world, revealing things of herself she didn't know. She meets a trio of people in black leather pants, people whom she is supposed to trust, no matter what. Trust has been an issue in her entire life. Clary, Simon's best friend, is turning eighteen. A few months before Clary's birthday, Tristen spent time with Clary, getting to know her a bit better, resulting in them becoming good friends.
