Description

Author's Note-- I originally intended for this short story to portray my thoughts of racism and how it impacts me and my friend on a daily basis. We both struggle with being different and being judged by people walking by on the street, or meeting us for the first time. Most of them immediately think certain things about skin colour and religion, and how we are so much different than the way they are. Even within our own circle of friends there are frequent misunderstandings to why we do not act in a particular manner. That is tough for us sometimes. But that is not to say that me and my friend are perfect and don't cause the same problems for other people. All people are unjust when it comes to discrimination, and even if it comes in the simplest form of a single word, it still hurts. I know that some people really struggle with being different and I recognize that we are all guilty of inflicting this damage as well. However I also realize that there are people in this world who think that maybe they can fix this. They think that by getting rid of the problem, maybe it would stop occurring. Their thoughts are not always what they seem in terms of the well-being of humanity. If Christians or Muslims or Jews didn't exist, would this problem still arise? Or would it just cause more destruction? People think it is better to all be the same, no extreme judgement, or racism. Wouldn't that be a fine place to live? The world would be perfect. Or would it? With that I present to you, Blood for Perfection... ----
