Faults in Programming Emotions

After a disastrous attempt to fly through an asteroid field, the Cargo Ship "The Avalon" is badly damaged, has lost all but one of its crew, a young boy named Tristan. It's the responsibility of its shipboard A.I. Alastair to ferry his sole remaining charge to safety with dwindling supplies, all but irreparable damage to most of the ship, and a malfunctioning core that's throwing way more emotions at the A.I. than he was ever meant to handle.

This is another short story of mine that was previously published in my schools Literary and Arts magazine, back in 2015.
