Chapter 1

Crushing on a hot street musician and his melancholic music wasn't part of Aven's plan to success, not even now that she's beginning to question everything she ever wanted. Her mother warned her not to end up like her‒stuck in a small town, waitressing tables and forever broken. All for falling in love. So, despite the fact that Jeremy is nothing like the jerk of her father, but an honest and sweet guy who cares deeply for her−Aven draws a line at friends before accepting his offer to experience New York together.
Jeremy finds new inspiration in Aven, but not only in writing music. She gives him the courage to face his past and the consequences of the decisions that led him to lose everything and become a street performer. If only Jeremy could inspire the same courage in Aven. No matter how many times he bares his heart to her, she can't open up to him and let him in completely.
Until one night when they are both grieving, Aven dares to erase the already blurred line separating them. She can't deny her feelings anymore, but she can't let go of her fears either, and it breaks Jeremy's heart. Before giving love a chance, Aven needs to figure out herself and rethink everything she believed in.

Fun fact # 1: I've never been to New York. To write this story I had to do a lot of research. I hope I did it well.
