Chapter 1

When Jeremiah fled to a monastery five years ago, it was to escape his twin curses. Not only is he blind, but he is also an empath, plagued by the emotions of the world around him. Most often they're debilitating and overwhelming, and he buries himself in prayer and song for solace.

But Jeremiah isn't the only one seeking solitude. The arrival of Robin, a new novice at the monastery, causes Jeremiah to question both his powers and his choices. And while Robin might be Jerimiah's salvation, he might be something much, much worse.
