Chapter One

Alex Jay is a boy in America living through the hardships of looking different than all the other kids in his school and an abusive father. His best friend, Jeremiah King, is doing no better, a slave on a large sugar plantation. One day, out of pure chance, Alex comes across something that leads to something life-changing for the both of them.
