[EDITING] Seileah, a young ground-spirit of the Great Morook Mountains, is the inspiration of all of her clan. She sees and interprets what nature can teach them, but when one day she sees the truth of her home, she knows her people will not understand. She must betray them with her star-seeded instincts. Glimmers of light frozen quick to a hare's breath by whispers of wind may yet sing some life to the Morook's red buds. She must use her own ethereal knowledge to imprint the ways of the forest on a lost human boy--who can neither see her nor hear her--to change his disastrous path or else destroy his whole homeland and vanish hers too.
