Chapter One: Avoid the Backroads

Life was on track for Ash Stafford, with being one of the stars in the football team and a group of close knit friends, until the Homecoming Game football game, where a major injury leaves Ash with the devastating news of a cancer that will destroy her eyes, and possibly her lungs, along with a lifelong ban from the sport she loves. Refusing to tell anyone including her closest friend and loyal boyfriend, Ash struggles to make the necessary adjustments and cope with what her life now has in store for her.
