Prologue

Following a catastrophic nuclear attack from North Korea, the United States loses millions of lives. After just a few weeks of recovery, Seattle begins building itself back up. Ruth Parker, a junior at Garfield Highschool, begins her new life with her aunt, her only remaining relative.

Once news of an epidemic spreads, conspiracy brewing with it, chaos returns to the city. The uprising of a group of infected citizens roaming the streets, dawning formidable scarring on their necks.

Ruth suddenly becomes deprived of the guarentee of her love, her safety, and her life.
