Prologue

Marrissa had always sat to the side in all the drama in school. She gained and lost friends, but never a boyfriend and only one crush, Quincy. She never acted on her feelings for all seven years of crushing, but stayed out of the way. Finally, four years after he falls in love, she gets her wish. Quincy and his girlfriend break up and she somehow gets caught up in the whirlwind of a nasty breakup, and gets closer and closer to him, but she never thought that safety would come at such a price.
