Alina Night is on the run. On the run from the police, her parents, everyone.

Alina is a witch. And a witch doesn't belong in New York. A witch doesn't belong anywhere. So the people say. . .

Ever since she was eight, she's been taking lessons from her older sister, Madilon. After her parents found out about it, they told the police. Then the police killed Madilon.

There are other people put there with special abilities like Alina and she plans to find them. If she can make it out New York alive, that is.
